Elon Musk contradicts himself regarding immigration.
At first he claims that nations should ensure that they have sufficient children to maintain numbers. Mass immigration is not a solution because it would replace countries’ distinctive cultures. A nation is it’s people, he states, and Italy would not be Italy (for example) if it is not populated by Italians. He urged the audience to make more Italians.
This first position makes sense.

But later in the interview, Musk expresses strong support for legal immigration. If people will benefit the economy, then let them come, he concludes. He placed no limits.

These two positions regarding immigration are contradictory. Musk contends that mass immigration is bad because it replaces the native population, but also good if it helps grow the economy.

It would seem that the cleverest individuals can be confused about arithmetic.
